General Trias is a landlocked component city in the coastal province of Cavite.
The city has a land area of 90.01 square kilometers or 34.75 square miles which constitutes 5.90% of Cavite's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 450,583. This represented 10.37% of the total population of Cavite province, or 2.78% of the overall population of the CALABARZON region.
