Esperanza is a municipality in the landlocked province of Agusan del Sur.
The municipality has a land area of 1,355.48 square kilometers or 523.35 square miles which constitutes 13.57% of Agusan del Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 59,353. This represented 8.03% of the total population of Agusan del Sur province, or 2.12% of the overall population of the Caraga region.
