Bindoy, formerly known as Payabon, is a coastal municipality in the province of Negros Oriental.
The municipality has a land area of 173.70 square kilometers or 67.07 square miles which constitutes 3.20% of Negros Oriental's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 40,308. This represented 2.81% of the total population of Negros Oriental province, or 0.50% of the overall population of the Central Visayas region.
