Javier, formerly known as Bugho, is a coastal municipality in the province of Leyte.

The municipality has a land area of 152.70 square kilometers or 58.96 square miles which constitutes 2.41% of Leyte's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 26,658. This represented 1.50% of the total population of Leyte province, or 0.59% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 175 inhabitants per square kilometer or 452 inhabitants per square mile.
