Ormoc is a coastal independent component city in the province of Leyte.
The city has a land area of 613.60 square kilometers or 236.91 square miles which constitutes 9.69% of Leyte's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 230,998. This represented 13.00% of the total population of Leyte province, or 5.08% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 376 inhabitants per square kilometer or 975 inhabitants per square mile.
