Calapan is a coastal component city in the province of Oriental Mindoro. It serves as the provincial capital as well as the regional center of MIMAROPA Region.
The city has a land area of 250.06 square kilometers or 96.55 square miles which constitutes 5.90% of Oriental Mindoro's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 145,786. This represented 16.05% of the total population of Oriental Mindoro province, or 4.52% of the overall population of the MIMAROPA Region.
