Palawan is a province in the Philippines situated in the MIMAROPA region grouped under the Luzon island group.

The province has a land area of 14,649.73 square kilometers or 5,656.29 square miles. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 849,469. This represented 28.67% of the total population of the MIMAROPA region, 1.48% of the overall population of the Luzon island group, or 0.84% of the entire population of the Philippines. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 58 inhabitants per square kilometer or 150 inhabitants per square mile.
