Batangas City is a coastal component city in the province of Batangas. It serves as the provincial capital.
The city has a land area of 282.96 square kilometers or 109.25 square miles which constitutes 9.08% of Batangas's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 351,437. This represented 12.08% of the total population of Batangas province, or 2.17% of the overall population of the CALABARZON region.
