Mendez, formerly known as Mendez-Nuñez, is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Cavite.
The municipality has a land area of 43.27 square kilometers or 16.71 square miles which constitutes 2.83% of Cavite's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 34,879. This represented 0.80% of the total population of Cavite province, or 0.22% of the overall population of the CALABARZON region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 806 inhabitants per square kilometer or 2,087 inhabitants per square mile.
