Virac is a coastal municipality in the island province of Catanduanes. It serves as the provincial capital.
The municipality has a land area of 152.40 square kilometers or 58.84 square miles which constitutes 10.21% of Catanduanes's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 76,520. This represented 28.14% of the total population of Catanduanes province, or 1.26% of the overall population of the Bicol Region.
