Balindong, formerly known as Watu, is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Lanao del Sur.

The municipality has a land area of 453.94 square kilometers or 175.27 square miles which constitutes 3.36% of Lanao del Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 29,180. This represented 2.79% of the total population of Lanao del Sur province, or 0.77% of the overall population of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
