The municipality has a land area of 485.24 square kilometers or 187.35 square miles which constitutes 3.60% of Lanao del Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 45,862. This represented 4.39% of the total population of Lanao del Sur province, or 1.21% of the overall population of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
