The municipality has a land area of 850.78 square kilometers or 328.49 square miles which constitutes 8.74% of Maguindanao's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 89,194. This represented 7.60% of the total population of Maguindanao province, or 2.36% of the overall population of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
