Shariff Aguak, formerly known as Maganoy, is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Maguindanao. It serves as the provincial capital.

The municipality has a land area of 392.70 square kilometers or 151.62 square miles which constitutes 4.04% of Maguindanao's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 31,692. This represented 2.70% of the total population of Maguindanao province, or 0.84% of the overall population of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
