Shariff Aguak, formerly known as Maganoy, is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Maguindanao. It serves as the provincial capital.
The municipality has a land area of 166.00 square kilometers or 64.09 square miles which constitutes 1.67% of Maguindanao's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 33,982. This represented 2.53% of the total population of Maguindanao province, or 0.77% of the overall population of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
