Basilisa, formerly known as Rizal, is a coastal municipality in the island province of Dinagat Islands.
The municipality has a land area of 102.46 square kilometers or 39.56 square miles which constitutes 12.53% of Dinagat Islands's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 36,911. This represented 28.81% of the total population of Dinagat Islands province, or 1.32% of the overall population of the Caraga region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 360 inhabitants per square kilometer or 933 inhabitants per square mile.
