Misamis Occidental is a province in the Philippines situated in the Northern Mindanao region occupying the northern-central section of Mindanao. Its capital is the City of Oroquieta.
The province has a land area of 2,006.63 square kilometers or 774.76 square miles. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 617,333. This represented 12.29% of the total population of the Northern Mindanao region, 2.35% of the overall population of the Mindanao island group, or 0.57% of the entire population of the Philippines. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 308 inhabitants per square kilometer or 797 inhabitants per square mile.
