Laak, formerly known as San Vicente, is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Compostela Valley.

The municipality has a land area of 768.00 square kilometers or 296.53 square miles which constitutes 17.14% of Compostela Valley's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 73,874. This represented 10.04% of the total population of Compostela Valley province, or 1.51% of the overall population of the Davao Region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 96 inhabitants per square kilometer or 249 inhabitants per square mile.
