Davao de Oro, formerly known as Compostela Valley, is a province in the Philippines situated in the Davao Region occupying the southeastern section of Mindanao. Its capital is the Municipality of Nabunturan.
The province has a land area of 4,560.09 square kilometers or 1,760.66 square miles. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 767,547. This represented 14.64% of the total population of the Davao Region, 2.92% of the overall population of the Mindanao island group, or 0.70% of the entire population of the Philippines. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 168 inhabitants per square kilometer or 436 inhabitants per square mile.
Davao de Oro is bordered, clockwise from the North, by Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Gulf, and Davao del Norte.
