Matanao is a landlocked municipality in the coastal province of Davao del Sur.
The municipality has a land area of 202.40 square kilometers or 78.15 square miles which constitutes 9.35% of Davao del Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 60,493.
