The municipality has a land area of 604.61 square kilometers or 233.44 square miles which constitutes 6.71% of Cotabato's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 154,441. This represented 11.19% of the total population of Cotabato province, or 3.40% of the overall population of the SOCCSKSARGEN region.
