Negros Occidental is a province in the Philippines situated in the Western Visayas region occupying the western section of the Visayas.

The province has a land area of 7,844.12 square kilometers or 3,028.63 square miles. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 2,623,172. This represented 32.98% of the total population of the Western Visayas region, 12.74% of the overall population of the Visayas island group, or 2.41% of the entire population of the Philippines. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 334 inhabitants per square kilometer or 866 inhabitants per square mile.

Negros Occidental is bordered, clockwise from the Northeast, by the Visayan Sea, Tañon Strait, Negros Oriental, Sulu Sea, Panay Gulf, and the Guimaras Strait.
