Borongan is a coastal component city in the province of Eastern Samar. It serves as the provincial capital.
The city has a land area of 475.00 square kilometers or 183.40 square miles which constitutes 10.29% of Eastern Samar's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 71,961.
