Matalom is a coastal municipality in the province of Leyte.
The municipality has a land area of 132.00 square kilometers or 50.97 square miles which constitutes 2.09% of Leyte's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 33,121. This represented 1.92% of the total population of Leyte province, or 0.75% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region.
