Ormoc is a coastal independent component city in the province of Leyte.

The city has a land area of 613.60 square kilometers or 236.91 square miles which constitutes 9.72% of Leyte's total area. Its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 215,031. This represented 12.47% of the total population of Leyte province, or 4.84% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 350 inhabitants per square kilometer or 908 inhabitants per square mile.
