Calbayog is a coastal component city in the province of Samar.
The city has a land area of 880.74 square kilometers or 340.06 square miles which constitutes 14.56% of Samar's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 186,960. This represented 23.57% of the total population of Samar province, or 4.11% of the overall population of the Eastern Visayas region.
